Ava Ruberti is a columnist, multimedia artist, and an appreciator of life. Coming from Staten Island, she is well-versed in both the antics of West Brighton and the life of a daily commuter to NYC. She graduated from Hunter College with a B.A. in English Literature and a concentration in Film and Media Studies. She’s applied the skills gained from her education to all areas of her life, logging the present via short films, vlogs, and writing columns.

Aside from her journey in creating digital media, Ava manages a small business offering handmade stuffed animals (and other crocheted items) called FortuneCrochet. This began as a hobby during the 2020 pandemic, but after gaining popularity rapidly on TikTok, it became a larger passion project that continues sales to this day. She has a crowd of over 6000+ collective followers across three different social media platforms.

Ava is also a bartender at a busy sports bar in Lower Manhattan, where she meets people from all walks of life. Serving and chatting with customers for hours on end, she is a skilled conversationalist and impromptu interviewer. Ava is an avid traveler and believes in the importance of a person’s motivations and getting someone to open up. As a professional yapper, she picks sentences to the bones to find out what makes a person tick. She draws inspiration from these casual conversations and uses them to fuel her art, gaining new perspectives every day and translating them into something for people to consume.
