Hi! I'm Em Casey AKA just Casey, a multimedia artist from Staten Island. I work on all kinds of projects that you can see here on my website!

I graduated from Fiorello H. LaGuardia HS for Fine Arts and the School of Visual Arts where I earned a BFA in Film with a concentration in Cinematography. During my time at SVA I was heavily involved with campus life. I was the Treasurer of the Visual Arts Students Association, Treasurer and Co-Founder of SVA Women in Film Club, The Director of Photography and Videography at WSVA Radio Station, a Film Student Senator, and a Teacher's Assistant for an Advanced Cinematography class.

Currently I work as a Video Engineer at Trinity Studios on Wall Street where I operate a robotic camera controller, switchboard, chyron machine, and EOS lighting board to broadcast/livestream productions, services, concerts, and events. I also do freelance work on film sets. Typically I work as Director of Photography or as a Focus Puller, but I also have experience as a Gaffer, Grip, and Director. 

 

I still do fine arts and I'm always experimenting in different mediums such as acrylic paint, colored pencil, oil pastels, clay, metal sculpture, and most recently stained glass. My most enduring project as been writing and illustrating my adventure/sci-fi/romance graphic novel called The Other Side. The book is about a man named Mike who is transported into an alternate dimension, and as he goes on a road trip to find his way back home with his alternate self's fiancé, grapples with feelings of grief, belonging, love, and being an imposter, all the while being chased by a mysterious agent looking to kidnap him.

My passion right now is continuing the sentiment of my college radio show Staten Island Locals where I uplift and highlight SI artists and musicians by photographing concerts, interviewing them, and promoting their art on my blog and on social media. I continue to host the show on Maker Park Radio in Stapleton, SI. I have a special connection with the music scene on Staten Island because I'm a musician as well. I've played the bass in multiple bands over the years.
