Hi! I'm Em Casey, a multimedia artist from Staten Island. I've always felt a gravitational pull towards the arts and that pull showed up early— I attended Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School for Fine Arts, where I got to fully lean into that instinct and start taking my creative work seriously. I was inspired to get a BFA in Film with a concentration in Cinematography at the School of Visual Arts because I believe film has the capacity to capture all mediums of expression and unite artists and storytellers to preserve the living moment. I want to be a part of that legacy so we are not forgotten to history, creating work that lingers and says, “We were here.” I thrive in collaborative, social environments and find a lot of meaning in the shared energy of making something together. Ir. My work is deeply shaped by my New York City roots, as well as my Irish, Puerto Rican, and Norwegian heritage— layers of identity that continue to guide both how I see the world and how I choose to capture it in my art. 🇮🇪🇵🇷🇳🇴🗽​​

📡 AV Engineer - At Trinity Church NYC & Maker Park Radio I direct recordings and streams of live podcasts, concerts, church services, panels, and other events using video switchers, PTZ cameras, robotic camera controllers, audio mixers, and basics of lighting with EOS. 

🎥 Director of Photography for Narrative Films and Documentaries - I’ve worked on various independent short films and projects with Trinity Studios, leading teams as well as working in specific roles such as camera operating, pulling focus, and lighting (gaffer/grip).

🎙️Radio DJ - Since 2022 I've hosted shows at Maker Park Radio and WSVA Radio. My current show is the Staten Island Locals Radio Show where I talk about current events on Staten Island, moderate interviews with local artists, and curate playlists to highlight local musicians.

🎨 Stained Glass, Sculpture, Painting and other Media Artist - My path as an artist has never been a straight line. I love exploring all different kinds of mediums and I find joy connecting with others through light, story, and craftsmanship. View my portfolio here.

✍🏻 Comic Artist - Writer and Artist of graphic novel “The Other Side” and mini-series “Joyriding.” 

🎶 Musician - I played bass in various bands over the years and I also know guitar and the fundamentals of uilleann pipes. I love music because of the community it creates—the collaboration, the friendships formed in the process, and the feeling of being part of a vibrant, colorful worlds of lights, staging, and shared expression.
